He's gone.

When I woke up this morning, there was a napkin and some cigarette stubs where James was supposed to be.

There was something written in the napkin. I took it, went to the bathroom and then to the kitchen to have some breakfast. An empty bottle of Jack Daniel's reminded me about last night.

After washing my face I took a look at the napkin. I read it twice and then I understood.

I hope to see him again... someday.

P.S.: Here's what the man wrote on that napkin.

God Bless the Rain

The man sat down
In the darkest corner of the place
Picked up a cigarette
And forgot the world for a while

Good month for the rain to visit our heads.

So never mind the darkness
we still can find a way
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
even cold November rain

Free Fallin'

"Man, I think I screwed it up again."
Sitting in the dock of the bay the two figures were finishing off the last pair of beers.

"... You're kinda wasted, pal. Did it go wrong or...?"

"It didn't go at all. There's something missing in the equation, and I can't figure out what the hell it is, Sam."

"Nuts! there's a whole lotta songs out there, you should know better than anyone, Jimbo."

"Guess you're right... but tonight, on this small planet, I still haven't found what I'm looking for."

"Take it easy, man. At least you have nothing to regret this time..."

"I'm not so sure about that. Sometimes it sucks to be in my shoes. Anyways, I'm not flying... but I'm not drowning now."

"You said it, man... you sad it."

The wind blew softly. The picture vanished and just for a second it felt like being embraced from the back.

The tide was turning.

Ordinary World

He recovered consciousness for a while.

Just for a few seconds.

He felt dizzy and disoriented, his body didn't gave a shit about what his mind was asking for.

After several tries, he gave up. The only thing he finally managed to do was to scrutinize what was in front of him. He realized that he was lying on the ground.

Before he fainted again, he smiled.

One more time, it was spring. The cherry blossoms were... perfect (since there isn't any better word).

As his eyes were closing, some old lines came to his brains and ears...

But I won't cry for yesterday
There's an ordinary world
Somehow I have to find

And as I try to make my way
To the ordinary world
I will learn to sur
vive...
